take two on changes

I started thinking on making some kind of change to the blog. Like going to a place like Pika or Bearblog. Both are very easy to go to and I could get the 30 some blogposts there and move my custom domain there. I like both of them. But I stared down this thing,

I don't really want to write on either of them

What I want is this static blog thing. I enjoy this very much. I feel perhaps some strange feeling of ownership of how the blog originates. I can remove the blog from Netlify and cut out the connection to GitHub easily. I could stop writing for some bit of time and it all would be there waiting for me when I came back. Then there's the cost. I use the Netlify free or legacy plan so I fit inside their limits easily. I don't even get close to build or network limits in a month.

My puny little blog just lives on. I can write how I like writing. With some nice little markdown editor and then send things off and see them show up. If I remember to add, commit, and push to the GitHub repo. Then I must remember to keep the iPhone happy and pull those changes. It also happens the other way. I have to keep the laptop in sync if I commit things on the iPhone. Otherwise, git won't get. Going. Stopping. Whatever.

so what's next then?

Well I dunno. I never do know so I will just stay put. I don't need some fancy web service or host. What I do need is to be able to just write. To sit down like right now and find the things I may want to say or other things I never planned on. Maybe some day there will be a next. A thing I see that I think I should just go try.

Meanwhile, I'll just put this on ice until tomorrow. Tomorrow when I walk for coffee and see another cool and beautiful Cambodia morning taking shape. Yeah.

coffee again like always

So here I am. The places really close and others a nice walk have become my daily haunts. Now sitting at The Street Coffee. This place has this comfort and peace to it. Mostly Khmer people here. I prefer those places.

Just like thinking on change for the blog. Right now how it works feels kinda comfortable and easy. It works because for me writing in markdown files and not really having to do much more just becomes part of the whole thing. The ease of it. Sometimes the forgetting to do a thing primarily with GitHub. It’s all a walk. Just like today’s little wander for coffee.

See you right here again. In a few weeks Kampot again. I need some space. Some tiny change and then days of what Kampot offers. A different kind if life. Slower. Walking the river walk always feels nice.
